“Book Descriptions: To celebrate a significant birthday we booked a fabulous cruise in the South Pacific departing from Sydney, Australia and visiting the islands of New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji over 13 days.We flew from Malaysia to Sydney and spent one night in a city hotel prior to boarding our cruise ship, Holland America’s ms Noordam, at the Circular Quay Cruise Terminal. It was a spectacular setting as we sailed out of Sydney Harbour from Circular Quay past the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. After 2 days sailing we arrived at our first stop of Nouméa, New Caledonia. It was then an overnight sail till we arrived at our next destination of Easo on the island of Lifou in New Caledonia.Next port of call the following day was Port Vila, Vanuatu where we visited a fascinating native cultural village. The following day we had a relaxing day at sea, which was my birthday, until we arrived at Dravuni Island, Fiji.Lautoka, Fiji was our next port where we had an interesting visit to a traditional Fijian cultural village and were entertained by song and dance by the locals. A days sailing back brought us to our last port of call which was Kuto on the small Isle of Pines in New Caledonia. Then after a 2 day sail we returned at dawn into Sydney Harbour to finish a really wonderful 13 day cruise. We spent one more night in Sydney to have a brief local tour of the sights prior to taking our flight back to Malaysia. Read more”
