'Sarhadein', is the personification of borders as a woman and her helplessness. It also represents the restricted meaning of freedom for human beings and their swelling greed.
'Chetaavani' is a poem expressing the ill effects of growing human greed for power. The descriptions in the poem reflect the disaster followed by the nuclear bomb explosion in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It emphasizes the importance of peace and universal brotherhood to save our planet and the living.
‘Thodi si Neend’ and ‘Chandni ki Saajish’ are poems representing the little complaints of an insomniac who just wants to sleep. ‘Silvatein’ is the story of every grandmother and grandfather who lives an ignored life. ‘Surkh Laal Barf, the title poem, gives words to the deep and vague emotions I felt in the silent and mesmerizing beauty of Kashmir.
‘Hum Raahi Hain Us Raste Key' is dedicated to our defence personnel. The poem is a salute to their spirit that motivates them to pledge their lives in our nation's service irrespective of the hardships they have to face.
‘Surkh Laal Barf’ is a bouquet of various emotions. There is love, betrayal, beauty, longing, patriotism, and many other unsaid feelings in these poems. Life is not always sweet, but it does offer solutions to every problem. We just have to be patient, and bold enough to take the hint and search for them.”
