    Author Libby Henry
“Book Descriptions: Libby’s father is old school and didn't want another family. Libby’s mother lives vicariously through her daughter. Irrepressible, Libby jumps into life from the day she was born. All Earl wants (Libby's Dad), is some peace, but with Beal (Libby’s Mom), being slightly unhinged and Libbys sense of adventure, there’s none to be had. “Libbah, quite that racket, ya yeah? That's hard to do when you're five years old riding through the plains on your treasured rocking horse doing a sing-along with your favorite record, The Little Orange Bird.
Libby dances through high school and dates the star quarterback. Her mom sends her to New York where she does a stint for Elite Model Management.
The Damn Boy wrecks Earl’s car and then there's those trips to her grandparents in rural Lincoln County, Kentucky. Paul, Libby's grandfather (Libby thinks his name is Paul because her sister and cousin call him “Paw”), is a big man in the community with two farms and the title of Deputy Sheriff. Libby hits her stride at college and in her senior year meets Tef, who comes from a politically-connected, family from Indiana. She's swept off her feet and they marry. Early genuinely loves Ted and Beal is giddy when she announces to her church friends about the new family connections. Things go from bad to worse when Ted is indicted for mortgage fraud. When Libby refuses to back up, Ted’s family turns on her and she loses everything. Libby gets her zest for life from Earl who has been her savior, but he's much older now, (he was fifty when Libby was born.) With time and fate nipping at her heels, and a young daughter in tow, Libby learns how to be a survivor and feels compelled to share her story.
Libby tells her story with humor and a lightheartedness that belie the dire circumstances she finds herself in; darker moments sharply delineated when lit by her adventures and fun-loving nature.”
