“Book Descriptions: "Apologetic methods have been categorized into distinct types according to their epistemological and philosophical starting points. As such, there are debates between the practitioners of the methods for which is the most consistent with Scripture and effective in convincing critical objectors. Under the influence of renowned theologian and apologist, John Warwick Montgomery, The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod has become familiar with evidentialism and his arguments against other forms of apologetics like presuppositionalism and Reformed epistemology. Their philosophical and theological commitments are considered unacceptable options for Lutherans who emphasize a Christological and incarnational theology. Evidentialism, which argues with the objector from historical facts, is preferred since it stays in the world which Christ has entered and sanctified through the atonement and resurrection. The goal of this thesis is to research acceptable apologetic methods based on what is warranted by Scripture, Luther's theology, and the theology of the Lutheran Confessions. It will survey both the critiques against presuppositionalism and Reformed epistemology and evaluate them according to their own claims."”
