Daisy Mrázková can truly look at the children's world with children's eyes: this big format book, as she herself says, she dedicated to children who don't know how to read yet and to their parents so that they can look at the pictures and speak about it together. What should be a non-violent guidance to read, with simple, curious questions coming from children: What would happen, if I went out without my coat... The eleven book series of original books of a painter Daisy Mrázková, which were being published at the end of '70s and beginning of '80s, is one of the best which was published during the second half of 20th century. Daisy Mrázková geniously combined an abstract, fragile world of her paintings and gouache with a tedious, almost as classic English drawings and a text bordering on poetry and prose. Her books are loved by children because she succeeded , by a simple story-telling, portraying of big topics: friendship, sadness, loneliness, goodness, happiness, care for little things, which adults usually pay no attention to and through intimate little stories and motives she showed all that: a newly found teddy bear who needs being taken care of, walks, animals, queations and family stories.”
